NYC Department of Transportation announced the following weekend bridge and street closures from Sept. 20 to Sept. 22.

 

Manhattan/Bronx

Broadway Bridge over the Harlem River

Right lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and alternating center lane in either direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Double-lane in either direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. Alternating sidewalk closures will be in effect. These closures are necessary to facilitate installation of steel, mechanical, and electrical components, and will continue through Sept. 27.

 

Bronx

East 165th Street between Fox Street and Westchester Avenue/AKA NYCTA Subway

This street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, and 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Sept. 22 for mainline track repairs.

 

West 169th Street between Nelson Avenue and Shakespeare Avenue

This street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and possibly on Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 15 for knuckle boom and concrete pump operations.

 

East 176th Street between Anthony Avenue and East Tremont Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday through Oct. 11 to facilitate crane operation.

 

East 180th Street between Park Avenue East and Park Avenue West

This street will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday through Oct. 7 for Con Ed utility repairs, contract# HBX 180

 

Ryer Avenue between East 180th Street and East Burnside Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday through Oct. 21 for concrete pump and boom operations.

 

Carter Avenue between East 176th Street and East Tremont Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday through Oct. 11 to facilitate crane operation.

 

Tiebout Avenue and East 187th Street and East 188th Street

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Oct. 31 to facilitate crane operation.

 

Inwood Avenue between West 169th Street and West Clarke Place

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Oct. 1 for use of concrete pumps, boom trucks, and knuckle booms.

 

Grant Avenue between East 169th Street and East 170th Street

This street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Oct. 4 for construction of Grant Park (Contract X271-119M).

 

Weiher Court between 3rd Avenue and Washington Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday through Sept. 20 for concrete pouring and booming to erect new building.

 

Glebe Avenue between Westchester Avenue and Lyon Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday through Sept. 30 to facilitate crane operation.

 

Furman Avenue between East 240th Street and East 241st Street

This street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday through Dec. 10/ to facilitate use of concrete pump.

 

Jerome Avenue/Plaza Drive between Elliot Place and Marcy Place

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday through Sept. 29 for use of boom, knuckle boom and concrete pump to work on new building.

 

Cruger Avenue between Sagamore Street and Bronxdale Avenue

This street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 5 pm to 9 pm Sunday through Sept. 27 for MTA contract C-35311 work zone and MP 6.

 

Mohegan Avenue between Hornaday Place and Bronx Park South

This street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday through Sept. 30 to facilitate crane operation.

 

Bush Street between Grand Concourse and Creston Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through Oct. 10 for facade installation using telehandler.

 

Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95) between Arthur Avenue and Clay Avenue

Single-lane traffic will be closed in both directions Monday to Friday from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. and double-lane traffic will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., except holidays. These closures are to facilitate rehabilitation of the bridges overpassing Webster Avenue, Metro-North Railroad, and Third Avenue and will continue through December 14, 2026.

 

Entrance Ramp from Southbound Sheridan Boulevard (NY-895) to Westbound Bruckner Expressway (I-278)

This ramp will be closed through Dec. 24 to facilitate Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvement Project. Trucks and buses are advised to use the exit ramp towards Edgewater Road/Hunts Point Market and follow the detour signs and use the Leggett Avenue entrance ramp to westbound Bruckner Expressway. Cars are advised to use the temporary exit ramp towards Whitlock Avenue and follow the detour signs to westbound Bruckner Expressway.

 

Grand Concourse Bridge over Metro-North Railroad – Hudson Line between 151st Street and 153rd Street

Northbound lanes will be closed Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to 5.30 a.m. the next morning, through Oct. 18, to facilitate structural steel repairs and utility work. Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained on the southbound lanes.

 

Hutchinson River Parkway between East Tremont Exit and Pelham Parkway On-ramp

Single-lane traffic in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning and double-lane traffic will close from 12.01 a.m. to 4 a.m. through Sept. 27 to facilitate Westchester Avenue Bridge painting.

 

Major Deegan Expressway (northbound) between Exit 3 and Entrance ramp north of East 138 Street

Right-lane traffic will become an exit only lane at Exit 3 24/7. An additional lane will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Saturday and Sunday from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m., and Sunday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning through March 3, 2025, to facilitate East 138th Street Bridge replacement. Full closure may occur Monday to Friday between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. for demolition and erection of the superstructure.

 

Major Deegan Expressway (southbound) between Exit 3 and Entrance ramp south of East 138th Street

Right-lane traffic will become an exit only lane at Exit 3 24/7. An additional lane will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Saturday and Sunday from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m., and Sunday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning through March 3, 2025, to facilitate East 138th Street Bridge replacement. Southbound exit ramp traffic to the 138th Street bridge will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, Saturday from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next morning, and Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning to facilitate water main connections.

 

Pelham Bay Bridge

Single-lane northbound traffic will be closed Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Single-lane traffic in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next morning. These closures are necessary to facilitate structure repair to trusses under deck and will continue through Nov. 1.

 

Shore Road Bridge over the Hutchinson River

Single-lane northbound traffic will be closed Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Single-lane traffic in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. next morning. These closures are necessary to facilitate maintenance and will continue through Oct. 11. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.
