Dense Fog Advisory Issued Dec. 26 at 9:57 p.m. until Dec. 27 at 11 a.m.

A dense fog advisory has been issued by the local National Weather Service (NWS) center in Upton, New York effective from Tuesday, Dec. 26 at 9:57 p.m. until Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m.

Officials said visibility will be reduced to around one quarter of a mile or less due to the dense fog in parts of Northeast New Jersey and Southeast New York, including New York City.

Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility are expected. “If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” officials warned.
