Dad’s Paid Tribute By LaSorsa Chevrolet

by the Norwood News

For all those dads who’ve ran errands, drove the kids to practice and gave up their Saturday sleep-ins to cheer on their kids during a ball game, here’s an event that pays tribute to patriarchs!

LaSorsa Chevrolet is honoring dads throughout the borough with its first-ever Dad’s Night Out on June 14 from 5 to 9 p.m at the auto group’s showroom, 3510 Webster Ave. The head of households will be at a familiar setting–a good old fashion barbecue pit that features live music, muscle cars, raffles for Bronx ball games and televised World Cup Games.

“We’re proud to continue our history of supporting the community with a unique event giving back to Dads,” said John LaSorsa, president of Lasorsa Auto Group. Guests who have a military background can also take advantage of the Chevrolet Military Discount running until the end of June.

This event is sponsored by Affinity Health Plan, Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj, BESO Lounge, Branches of Beauty, Metro Wine, Siete Ocho Site Restaurant, Tirado Distillery and more. Hosted by LaSorsa Auto Group, and organized by Marketing & Advertising Solutions Inc. and the Mommy To Bee Expo.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
