Cultured Kids Cuisine is a New York City-based, international, non-profit organization striving to foster cultural awareness through food. The group is currently recruiting high school and college students from the Bronx and other parts of the city for a fully funded internship opportunity. The group offers a variety of free services to children, such as virtual cooking workshops, food anthropology courses, educational podcasts, food blogs, eCookbooks, and more.
While no previous experience is necessary, the organization asks that applicants be passionate about building a future of love and tolerance through food. During the internship students will be paired with a mentor and will have the opportunity to attend weekly workshops led by successful women founders and entrepreneurs, growing their network and skillset in the process.
According to its representatives, since its founding in July 2020, the organization has made an impact on over 1,500 children around the world, educating them to be kinder, and more culturally appreciative human beings. It is run by over 100 women and non-binary, high school and college students from all over the world.
Norwood News previously reported on the work of Stephen Ritz and his Green Bronx Machine, an impact-driven organization that teaches kids about the art of healthy eating, that started as an after-school, alternative program for high school students at Community School 55 in the South Bronx.
Meanwhile, representatives of Cultured Kids Cuisine said their programs push students to think creatively about solving real-world problems, instills in them the initiative to be proactive in their communities, and empowers them to see their ability to do something bigger.
