Crime File: Vault Break-In, Bicycle Thief and More


 

 

Would-Be Thief Wanted
Police are still looking for a woman they say tried to rob a 65-year-old man in Kingsbridge Heights on March 23. Police say the victim was taking money out of an ATM when the suspected woman and another man demanded money. They then punched and kicked the victim, but left without taking anything. The victim, meantime, refused medical attention. Police have already arrested one of the suspects, 56-year-old Jimmy East of Kingsbridge Heights.

Break-In 
The NYPD is looking for a man who broke into a 24-year-old woman’s house on March 21 around 11:30 p.m. Surveillance camera footage shows a man breaking into the victim’s home in Kingsbridge Heights around 8 a.m. through a secured door. He shortly left carrying three handbags, electronics, and $600. The man is described as Hispanic, 25 to 35 years old, and was last seen wearing all black clothing.


 

 

Bicycle Thief
A suspect has been on the run since allegedly stealing two bicycles from a 50-year-old woman’s porch in Bedford Park on April 10. The man is said to have fled northbound on Bainbridge Avenue. The suspect is said to be Hispanic, and was last seen with a hooded sweatshirt and jacket.

Shooter Wanted
Police are trying to find a man who is said to have shot a 36-year-old man in his left bicep. The victim was shot on April 14 at the corner of Aqueduct Avenue and West 183rd Street around 3:02 a.m., according to police. The suspect is described as Hispanic in his late teens to early 20’s, approximately 5’8” tall, 150 pounds, brown eyes and black hair. He was last wearing blue jeans, black sneakers, and a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt with white stripes on the arms.

$5,000 Stolen
Police are investigating a case where $5,000 was stolen from a vault on April 21. The suspect broke into a 34-year-old woman’s home, and stole some of her belongings on April 21. According to a surveillance video a man was seen to be inside the victim’s residence. He was seen to have stolen $5,000 from the victims vault before fleeing the victim’s home. The man is described as Hispanic, is in his 20’s to 30’s, and was last seen wearing all blue clothing.


Man Stabbed
The police are currently on the lookout for two men who engaged in an argument with two other individuals at the corner of Aqueduct Avenue and West 183rd Street around 1:22 p.m. The argument escalated and led to the victim being stabbed in the back. The victim was immediately transported to the Bronx Lebanon Hospital. The first attacker is described as a Hispanic male with dark hair. He was also last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, black pants and black sneakers. The second attacker is described as a Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with multi-colored designs, black pants, and black and white sneakers.


 

52 Pct Robbery Pattern
The NYPD is looking for three men who are suspected of having robbed several victims throughout March 23 to April 7 in areas such as Bainbridge, Kingsbridge, and University Heights, all taking place in the 52nd Precinct. The thieves are known to attack victims who are on their bikes. When attacking these victims they push the victim off their bike before attacking them. Throughout most of these occasions these men have pulled out knives in order to threaten their victims. The first man is Black in his twenties; he was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe on the front, dark colored pants and white sneakers. The second man is black in his 20s and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and black sneakers. The third man is Black and in his twenties. He was wearing a hooded jacket, a baseball cap, jeans, and black sneakers.
