Crime File: Fake Undercover Cop Allegedly Robs Teen in the Bronx

Fake Cop Robs Boy
A month has passed since police were made aware of a 13-year-old robbed by a man pretending to be an undercover cop inside the PC Richard in Fordham.

The incident happened on Jan. 3 around 6:42 p.m., according to police, who say the teen was inside the store when he was approached by the fake cop. The victim was told that he was investigating credit card fraud and demanded money from the boy, who complied, giving the man $200.

The man is described as being around 45 to 50 years old, standing at six feet, and weighing around 230 pounds. He is dark skinned with black hair and was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, a blue New York Yankees baseball cap, and black sneakers.

Norwood Phone Store Burglarized 
The NYPD needs help in ID’ing a man wanted for burglarizing the MetroPCS store in Norwood on Jan. 31. It happened at 5 a.m. when the man entered through the store’s rear entrance of the building at 7 E. Mosholu Pkwy. by breaking the lock, according to police. Grainy surveillance video from the store captures the suspect taking four iPhones and 1 LG smartphone and immediately taking off.


 

Police gave no official description of the suspect, but released a video still in hopes of identifying the suspect.

Norwood Teen Attacked and Robbed
Police are looking for three men wanted for attacking then robbing a 14-year-old boy inside a building on East Gun Hill Road and Kings College place.

It happened on Jan. 13 around 3:30 p.m. at a building on East Gun Hill Road and Kings College Place just near P.S. 94. There, video surveillance shows the victim was attacked, trying to fend off his attackers. One of the suspects takes his cell phone and earphones before taking off on East Gun Hill Road, leaving the victim with minor injuries to the face, according to police.


 

 

The three men are described as Hispanic. The first man last seen wearing a blue-hooded sweater, multi-colored jeans, and black sneakers. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, a red jacket, black jeans, and white sneakers. The third suspect was last seen wearing a red and black baseball cap, a black hooded sweater, black pants and black sneakers. No age of the suspects was provided, though an image taken from surveillance video and released by the NYPD shows the men to be in their late teens or early 20s.

Would-Be Robber on the Run
Police are still searching for the man wanted for allegedly approaching a man from behind, attacking him, and demanding money. The incident happened in the area of Aqueduct Walk near West Fordham Road, the long promenade frequented by residents. The man, whose identity is still unknown, attacked the 32-year-old victim, cutting him and leaving several bruises on his face. Despite the attack, the victim refused to give up anything.


 

 

The man is described as standing around 6′ 2″ and weighing 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black durag, black leather jacket with fur hood, black jeans, and black sneakers.
