Family, friends and residents packed St. Joseph Hall at the St. Patrick’s Home for the Aged and Infirm for its 9th annual centenarian celebration. The event honored 10 centenarians, including Rose Paladino, who at 105 years young is St. Patrick’s oldest resident.
“We honor all of our residents who are a hundred and older, and it gets bigger and bigger every year,” said Janet Kibassa, director of recreation therapy at the home. “We do this for the residents.”
The celebration, which had a 4th of July theme, featured live music, poetry and other readings. Birthday greetings from the President and city mayor were also read aloud. The centenarians received personalized government citations honoring them for their achievements, along with gift bags. Refreshments were also served to all the guests.
God Bless them all !
