City Marks World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30

“World Day Against Trafficking in Persons” is marked on July 30. According to the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (MOEDGBV), human trafficking is the use of power and control to force, trick, or coerce someone into engaging in providing labor or services, which can include commercial sex.

Annual Bronx Anti-Bullying Resource Fair Returns

On a sunny July 17th, the Bronx office of New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) hosted its 6th annual Anti-Bullying Resource Fair on 137th Street and Alexander Avenue in Mott Haven. NYPCC is a non-profit, community-oriented, mental health organization operating across New York State, offering several services to the community, mostly centered on therapy and counseling for those of all ages. This year marks its 50th annivesary.

Bronx Man Gets 34 Years to Life for Raping Two Women, Sexually Assaulting 3rd Woman in His Home

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Friday, July 19, that a Bronx man has been sentenced to a total of 34 years to life in prison for raping two women and sexually assaulting a third woman over the course of six days in his Eastchester apartment. She said one victim was rescued after she sent a message on a food delivery app, asking the restaurant to call police.
