Bronx Veterans Voice Concern over Expected NYC VA Medical Center Closures

News of the recently announced likely closures of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Veterans Affairs hospitals raised concern among veterans during the March meeting of Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7)’s Veterans Affairs’ committee. Committee chair, Chad Royer, said announcements of the closures had arisen following an Asset and Infrastructure Review (AIR) Report by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which included recommendations by the U.S. VA Secretary.   He said the AIR Commission, which is appointed by the president, uses the report to plan how to provide a better healthcare network in the right locations with the right infrastructure to
