Reminder of Alternate Side Parking Updates

As a reminder, in accordance with alternate side parking (ASP) reform, streets without parking meters will be cleaned no more than once per week, per side. Parking meters remain in effect.   Non-metered streets that have multiple ASP days will be cleaned – with vehicles required to be moved – only on the latest day in the week on each side, as indicated on each street’s currently posted signage, until further notice. Bridge Lift Testing at RFK Bridge Scheduled for May 7 and May 14

Intermittent, full closures at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (Harlem River Lift Bridge) to and from Manhattan are scheduled on Friday, May 7, and Friday, May 14, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge lifts to test mechanical functionality and allow completion of routine preventative maintenance.   Each closure lasts approximately 20 minutes. Motorists may experience delays and should consider an alternate route.   Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mymtaalerts.com for the latest information on this planned work.

Opening of Lehman College Vaccination Site On Tuesday, April 20, Lehman College, CUNY formally announced that it has partnered with the City to launch the Bronx’s newest COVID-19 vaccination hub, located at the college’s APEX Athletic Center at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West in the borough’s Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood, as reported by Norwood News.    The site is being run by SOMOS Community Care, and will serve up to 300 people a day with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.   The closure of the Bronx High School of Science mass vaccination site, effective April 15, was a blow to local seniors in the Bronx Community Board 7 district and beyond, as reported last week by Norwood News. A new COVID-19 vaccination site opened at Lehman College on Wednesday, April 14, though details of the new site had initially been scant.
