DOT Launches New “Daylighting” Pedestrian Safety Program at 33 Bronx Locations
New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced on Sept. 3, that the NYC Department of Transportation has improved pedestrian visibility at 33 locations in The Bronx, using a technique called “daylighting” which
removes obstructions, like parked cars, from intersections in an effort to enhance safety.
Norwood: Group Sought for Robbery of 69-Year-Old Woman Pushed to the Ground
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the people seen in the attached photos who they say are sought in connection with a robbery of a 69-year-old woman in Norwood. Police said that on Thursday, July 18, at around 4.30 p.m., in the vicinity of Decatur Avenue and East 211th Street, three unidentified people approached a 69-year-old woman from behind. They said Individual #1 pushed her to the ground, and forcibly stole $9 and her cell phone, and that the victim went to St. Barnabas Hospital by private means, where she was treated for minor injuries.
