East 144th Street between Gerard Avenue and Walton Avenue This street will be closed Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Jan 10, 2022, to facilitate crane operation. East 160th Street between Forest Avenue and Tinton Avenue This street will be closed Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Dec. 31, to facilitate crane operation. UPDATE Wakefield: 19-Year-Old Arrested following Fatal Stabbing at 241st Street Station

  Police confirmed on Friday, Dec. 17, that a man has been arrested following a murder in at 241st subway station in Wakefield.   On Monday, Dec. 13, at approximately 00.41 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been stabbed at 241st Street and White Plains Road station, located in the 47th precinct / Transit District 12.   Upon arrival at the mezzanine to the 2 train, police observed an unidentified man with a stab wound to the torso. EMS also responded and transported the victim to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Bronx Bus Redesign Hearing Takes Place on Nov. 9, 2021
