A car accident which occurred on Tuesday, March 21, at 40 West 225th Street near the Target store in the Marble Hill section of The Bronx has resulted in the hospitalization of one person.   The incident was confirmed by an FDNY spokesperson on Tuesday who said they received a call regarding the collision at 1.36 p.m. Norwood News photographer, Miriam Quiñones, was at the scene of the incident around the time it occurred and said four cars appear to have been involved. MTA To Perform Structural Repairs On D Line Between Bedford Park Blvd and Kingsbridge Rd

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced on Monday, March 13, that structural repairs will begin on the middle track of the line this spring between Bedford Park Boulevard and Kingsbridge Road, resulting in weekday express train service to be suspended from 4.45 a.m. on Monday, March 27, through 5 a.m. Friday, April 28.   This work will also include the restoration of electrical equipment, installing and testing new antenna cables, and lead abatement, MTA officials said, adding that customers are advised to allow for additional time for their commutes.   A.M. Traffic Flow Change on Bruckner Expressway to Sheridan Blvd from March 16, 2023 to May 31, 2024

MTA Announces Next Phase of Public Bathrooms to Reopen at Subway Stations

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced on March 8 that 24 bathrooms at 12 subway stations across the City will reopen to the public May 2. The 12 stations with reopened bathrooms are the second group in NYC Transit’s phased reopening of subway bathrooms since they were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The bathrooms, one male and one female at 12 stations, will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a one-hour closure for cleaning from noon to 1 p.m.   “Following a successful launch, we felt comfortable moving forward with the next group of stations,” said NYC Transit President Richard Davey.
