Van Cortlandt Park: Motor Vehicle Crash Causes Car to Overturn, Occupants Free Themselves

A motor vehicle accident was reported on the southbound lanes of the Major Deegan Expressway, approaching Van Cortlandt Park South, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at around 1:38 p.m. All lanes were cleared as of 2:23 p.m. according to New York State officials.   Norwood News contacted the FDNY to obtain further details on any reported injuries. Fordham Heights: NJ Man Charged in Fatal 2020 Hit & Run of Food Delivery Worker, Victorio Hilario-Guzman

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Oct. 19 that a New Jersey man was charged with recklessly driving on the Grand Concourse, leading to the death of Bronx food delivery worker, Victorio Hilario-Guzman, in 2020.   In the context of the announcement, Clark said, “The defendant accelerated and ran a red light, striking a food delivery worker on a bicycle. NYPD Announces Proposed Rules for Obtaining a Firearm License   

The NYPD announced on Friday, Oct. 14, that the agency is releasing proposed rules concerning the issuance of firearm licenses. According to agency, the proposed rules seek to amend gun licensing standards in light of the Supreme Court decision in the case of New York State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. Bruen, 142 S. Ct. 2111 (2022), as well as recent statewide legislation governing gun licensing.
