Kingsbridge Heights: Man Assaulted Aboard Northbound D Train

A man was assaulted aboard a D train as it approached Kingsbridge Road subway station on Monday night, March 17, according to the NYPD. They said the incident took place at around 9.25 p.m. when a 35-year-old man was aboard a northbound “D” train in the vicinity of Grand Concourse and East Kingsbridge Road. “An individual punched him in the face, causing bruising and pain after a verbal dispute,” they said.  “The victim refused medical attention.”

Hochul Announces State Investment Win of $20 Million for Greater Morris Park Neighborhood

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday, Feb. 27, that the Bronx neighborhood of Greater Morris Park will receive an unprecedented $20 million in funding after the neighborhood was announced as the New York City winner of the eighth round of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and the third round of the NY Forward program. Previous funding received by The Bronx under the program was capped at $10 million.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi | North Central Bronx CEO Christopher Mastromano announced Feb. 24 that Michelle Soto, MD, MBA, FASAM, has been appointed medical director of ambulatory care at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx (NCB). Dr. Soto will oversee NCB’s many outpatient clinics in this role, including its pediatric, women’s health, primary care, and the medical and surgical specialties.
