The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has advised of the following street and bridge closures in the Bronx from April 8 to June 29. East 136th Street between Brown Place and Brook Avenue: This street will be closed Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 10 to facilitate crane operation. A large pothole that had been doubling as a trash receptacle in the middle of a Jerome Park intersection has finally been fixed, after an official from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) explained the cause of the delay was a broken “catch basin” that needed to be repaired. The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who is sought for questioning in connection to a robbery that occurred in Jerome Park at Mosholu Parkway subway station (number 4 line). A 29-year-old man has died following a scooter collision in the Belmont section of The Bronx. On Thursday, March 24, at approximately 10.32 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious man who was lying on the roadway at Southern Boulevard near Crotona Avenue, in the Belmont section of the Bronx. The NYPD said a woman was brought to an area hospital after being hit by a vehicle in a hit and run incident which occurred on the border of the Fordham Manor and Fordham Heights neighborhoods. Police responded to a 911 call at around 1.45 p.m. on Friday, March 18, following a report that a woman had been knocked down by a vehicle at East 188th Street and East Fordham Road. Police said the driver fled the scene, that there are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. The victim was brought to St. Barnabas hospital in stable
