Bridge Lift Testing at RFK Bridge Scheduled for Early Morning Hours of Friday, May 6

Bridge lift testing at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge Manhattan span is scheduled for the early hours of Friday, May. 6, according to the MTA.   Intermittent Closures Planned for Both Directions Intermittent, full closures at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River lift span to and from Manhattan are scheduled for Friday, May 6, from midnight to 5 a.m. for bridge lifts to test mechanical functionality and allow routine preventative maintenance.   Each closure will last approximately 20 minutes. Laconia: 51-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Dies following Daylight Collision

A 51-year-old woman died from her injuries after she was hit by a car while crossing the street in the Laconia section of the East Bronx following a daylight road incident involving one vehicle.   On Thursday, April 28, at approximately 12.31 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been hit at the intersection of Burke Avenue and Bouck Avenue in Laconia. Weekend Lane Closures on Cross Bronx Expressway (Weather Permitting)
