The MTA has issued a ban on empty tractor-trailers and tandem trucks on all MTA Bridges from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Monday, May 16. The pedestrian walkways of the RFK and Henry Hudson bridges will remain open, weather permitting. Castle Hill: 62-Year-Old Woman Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Van

A 62-year-old woman has died following a traffic accident in Castle Hill.   On Saturday, May 14, at approximately 11.02 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been hit at Olmstead Avenue and Seward Avenue, in the 43rd precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed an unconscious and unresponsive 62-year-old woman with trauma about the body.   EMS responded to the location and transported the aided woman to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Fordham Manor/Belmont: Queens Woman Sideswipes Bus, Charged with DWI

Police said a 62-year-old Queens woman was arrested and charged with allegedly driving while intoxicated (DWI), after she collided with an MTA bus on the Fordham Manor-Belmont border.   When contacted by Norwood News about the incident, police confirmed on May 11 that the crash was reported at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and East Fordham Road, across the street from the New York Botanical Garden. National Weather Service NYC Says Dense Fog Expected until Saturday, May 14 at 10 A.M.

The New York City office of the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a dense fog advisory which is in effect until Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m.   Visibility of one quarter mile or less is expected in portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and in the southeast of New York State. Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility are also expected. Residents are requested, if driving, to slow down, use the vehicle’s headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of your vehicle.    

Norwood/Olinville: Man Suffers Minor Injuries in Motor Vehicle Collision

  A man was taken to hospital following a motor vehicle accident on the Bronx River Parkway over the weekend.   Police said on Saturday, May 7, at 6.49 a.m., a Nissan traveling north on the exit ramp of the Bronx River Parkway at East Gun Hill Road [located in the 47th precinct] in the vicinity of Norwood / Olinville rear-ended a 2003 Ford who was stopped in traffic. Kingsbridge: 21-Year-Old Woman Charged with DWI, Three Injured in Collision

A woman has been hit with a DWI charge following a collision in Kingsbridge over the weekend.   The FDNY said on Friday, May 6, at 10.52 p.m., emergency units responded to W 230th Street and The Major Deegan Expressway following reports of a motor vehicle accident.
