The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has advised of the following street and bridge closures in The Bronx from June 17 to Aug. 31.   Bruckner Boulevard between 3 Avenue and Lincoln Avenue: This street will be closed Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June 29 to facilitate crane operation.   East 139th Street between Alexander Avenue and Willis Avenue: This street will be closed Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June 26 to facilitate crane operation.   East 146th Street between Brook Avenue and Willis

Bedford Park: Search for Gunman following Non-Fatal Shooting, Residents Want Cameras for P.S. 8

  The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached surveillance video and photo who is sought for questioning in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred in Bedford Park, located in the 52nd precinct.   On Wednesday, June 8, at around 2.20 p.m., a 22-year-old male victim was in a vehicle (as a passenger), located opposite 214 East Mosholu Parkway South, when he encountered the unidentified shooter. Charlotte Gardens: 12-Year-Old Girl in Hospital following Hit & Run Incident

A 12-year-old girl was taken to the hospital following a hit & run incident that occurred in the Charlotte Gardens section of the Bronx. Deadly Morrisania Hit & Run, As Driver Injured in Separate Fordham Manor Motorcycle Crash

UPDATE NWS Issues Thunderstorm & Flooding Warning on Thursday, June 2, until 5.45 p.m.

The New York City office of the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Bronx county and nearby regions on Sunday, May 22, until 4:15 p.m.   “A severe thunderstorm was located over Oradell, or over Paramus, moving southeast at 25 mph,” NWS officials said. “Wind gusts of 60 mph are expected,” according to the agency’s radar. Officials said to expect damage to trees and power lines. “This severe thunderstorm will be near Bergenfield and Norwood around 3.50 p.m., Fort Lee and Englewood around 4 p.m., Yonkers, Harlem and Riverdale around 4.05 p.m., Mott Haven, East Tremont

National Weather Service NYC Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning on Sunday Night, May 22, until 8.45 p.m.

The New York City office of the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Bronx county and nearby regions on Sunday, May 22, until 8.45 p.m. At 7.39 p.m., weather officials said severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Paterson to near Caldwell and East Hanover, moving northeast at 25 mph. They said there is a hazard of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail according to a radar source.   They said minor hail damage to vehicles is possible, and to expect wind damage to trees and power lines.
