Fordham Heights: NJ Man Charged in Fatal 2020 Hit & Run of Food Delivery Worker, Victorio Hilario-Guzman

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Oct. 19 that a New Jersey man was charged with recklessly driving on the Grand Concourse, leading to the death of Bronx food delivery worker, Victorio Hilario-Guzman, in 2020.   In the context of the announcement, Clark said, “The defendant accelerated and ran a red light, striking a food delivery worker on a bicycle. His alleged reckless actions ended the life of the victim, who was delivering food in the middle of the pandemic.” She added, “I send my deepest condolences to the victim’s family, who had to wait for two years

UPDATE Ten Injured, including Kids & one Senior Citizen, in Foxhurst Police-Involved Road Accident

Ten people have been reported injured following a road accident involving a police vehicle on Thursday, Oct. 6, at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Hoe Avenue in the Foxhurst section of The Bronx, just southeast of Crotona Park East.   Citizens’ App users shared live footage of cordoned-off streets, a large crowd gathered, and multiple members of the NYPD at the location, in the 41st Precinct, after the incident occurred. Police initially confirmed in relation to the injured, “No one is likely at this time,” meaning all victims were expected to survive the accident.

Belmont: 67-Year-Old Woman Dies in Scooter Collision

A 67-year-old woman has died following a scooter accident in Belmont, police said.   On Friday, Sept. 23, at around 11.37 a.m., police from the 48th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of East 188th Street and Park Avenue.   “Upon arrival, officers observed a 67-year-old female, e-bike operator, lying on the roadway with trauma to the body,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022.”   Police said that further investigation
