The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached photo who department officials say is sought in connection with the theft of a vehicle in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx, and later an assault on two police officers in the Van Nest section. Regular riders of the Bx12 bus who complain that most days the buses are crowded, and that there are not enough of them can look to the latest findings from both the Metropolitan Transportation Administration (MTA) and NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) for confirmation. Officials from both agencies updated residents and Bronx Community Board 7’s Traffic & Transportation committee at the last committee meeting before the summer break on Thursday, June 1. A one-month-old baby girl is in critical condition following a motor vehicle accident in the Unionport section of The Bronx, police said. Three people were injured following a motor vehicle accident on the Bronx River Parkway at East Gun Hill Road on Monday night, May 29, FDNY officials said. A car flipped on its roof and apparently burst into flames on the Bronx River Parkway at East Gun Hill Road on Tuesday afternoon, May 30. An FDNY spokesperson said the department received a call regarding the incident at 2.02 p.m. on Tuesday and that FDNY units responded to reports of an overturned vehicle on fire. Twenty-eight students from P.S. 199, The Shakespeare School, were the lucky recipients of new bikes last week thanks to the Montefiore School Health Program and the Montefiore Einstein Center for Performance Improvement. The bikes were presented to the students at their school, located at 1449 Shakespeare Avenue in the Mt. Eden section of The Bronx on Friday, May 19.
