Williamsbridge: Car Overturns & Bursts into Flames on Bronx River Parkway

A car flipped on its roof and apparently burst into flames on the Bronx River Parkway at East Gun Hill Road on Tuesday afternoon, May 30.   An FDNY spokesperson said the department received a call regarding the incident at 2.02 p.m. on Tuesday and that FDNY units responded to reports of an overturned vehicle on fire. The spokesperson indicated that three victims were ambulatory, meaning they could wait for treatment and were considered “walking wounded.”   They were transported to Jacobi Medical Center and St. Barnabas Hospital respectively for treatment, the spokesperson said. Woodlawn Heights: Two Teens Injured in FDNY-Involved Crash

Montefiore Einstein Give Out Free New Bikes to P.S. 199 Students during National Bike Safety Month

Twenty-eight students from P.S. 199, The Shakespeare School, were the lucky recipients of new bikes last week thanks to the Montefiore School Health Program and the Montefiore Einstein Center for Performance Improvement.   The bikes were presented to the students at their school, located at 1449 Shakespeare Avenue in the Mt. UPDATE Bedford Park: Motor Vehicle Accident Reportedly Results in One Injured Scooter Driver

Allerton: Man Sought following Assault on MTA Employee aboard BX12 Bus

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photo who is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Allerton.   Police said that on Monday, May 8, at around 3.35 p.m. a person got into a dispute with a 42-year-old, on-duty MTA employee, on a BX12 bus in the vicinity of Williamsbridge Road and Pelham Parkway. UPDATE Baychester: 10 Hospitalized following Motor Vehicle Collision

Officials from The Fire Department of New York said 10 people were transported to hospital following a motor vehicle collision on Monday afternoon in Baychester, south of Co-op City, and one further person was also injured but not hospitalized.   The incident was reported at 3.18 p.m. at Einstein Loop North and Hutchinson River Parkway East on Monday, May 15, and involved four separate vehicles.   An NYPD spokeswoman said an 80-year-old man was driving a jeep traveling northbound on Hutchinson River Parkway when he collided at the intersection with a yellow school bus, driven by a 72-year-old woman.

UPDATE Police Officer Arrested on DWI Charge in 50th Precinct

An off-duty New York City employee was arrested and charged in the 50th Precinct on Saturday, police said.   An NYPD spokesperson said that on Saturday, May 13, Eriverto Carino, 24, an off-duty NYPD Officer was arrested within the boundaries of the 50th Precinct, which falls under the command of Captain Filastine Srour and covers the neighborhoods of Kingsbridge, Marble Hill, Riverdale, Fieldston, and Spuyten Duyvil, as well as Van Cortlandt Park.   Carino was charged with driving while intoxicated or impaired.   Police said the officer was assigned to the recruit training section of the department.   A person
