Two Bronx Men Sentenced for 2014 Harlem Murder
Federal prosecutors announced on May 29 that two Bronx men were sentenced for the 2014 murder of a Harlem man. Damian Williams, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said that Carlos Laureano, 35, was sentenced on May 23, to 30 years in prison for the murder of Luis Perez on August 12, 2014, and Nnandi Ben-Jochannan, 30, was sentenced on May 29 to 10 years for his role in the murder.

Artist Calls on Volunteers to Help Repaint the “Norwood” Mural on Sunday, June 2
Bronx muralist and artist Laura Alvarez who, as reported, recently launched an online fundraiser to repaint the beloved “Norwood” mural, located on East 207th Street and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood, after it was vandalized / tagged last year, is calling on the volunteers to join her in repainting the mural on Sunday, June 2, having carried out some preparatory work already on June 1.
