Applications Remain Open for the City’s Summer Rising Program Among Others

Applications remain open to apply for the City’s Summer Rising program, as well as a number of other programs. Commissioner Manuel Castro of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) and Commissioner Keith S Howard of NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) are encouraging applications to various summer programs from the City’s youth such as the Summer Youth Employment Program, Summer Rising and Saturday Night Lights, along with adult literacy programs.  

Fordham Manor: Elderly Man Found Dead inside Home

Firefighters responding to a 911 call on Wednesday, Feb. 28, discovered the body of an elderly man inside a private home in Fordham Manor who reportedly showed signs of electrical burns. He could not be resuscitated according to fire officials.

“Norwood, The Bronx” Mural Gets a Sinister Makeover

A beloved, colorful mural comprising the words, “Norwood” and “The Bronx” in large lettering, located on East 207th Street and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood, has been overwritten seemingly with the more sinister word, “Ammo,” sometimes used as an abbreviation for ammunition.
