A 24-year-old man has died and a 42-year-old man has been hospitalized following a shooting in Wakefield over the weekend. Police said that on Sunday, March 19, at around 11.48 p.m. officers from the 47th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at a deli located at 4702 White Plains Road. An NYPD spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 24-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the torso. A residential fire requiring “all hands” which broke out in the Allerton section of The Bronx on Saturday has resulted in the death of one civilian, FDNY officials said. Police said they have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection to a fatal hit & run incident which resulted in the death of a 26-year-old woman in the West Farms section of The Bronx in July 2022.
