Girl Scouts Honor Vets Flagging Graves at Woodlawn Cemetery
In honor of Memorial Day, May 27, more than 70 local girl scouts and their parents joined dozens of volunteers as they participated in the annual ‘flagging of the graves’ at Woodlawn Cemetery. The volunteers spent the days leading up to Memorial Day placing American flags at the graves of more than 9,000 U.S. service members.

Facing various State charges, following the unintentional death by fentanyl poisoning of one-year-old Nicholas Feliz Dominici at Divino Niño Daycare Center in Kingsbridge Heights on Sept. 15, 2023, her defense attorney alleges she’s not a monster.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams released a statement on Saturday, April 20, in tribute to City Hall employee, Pedro Frisneda, who has died. Frisnedo was recently appointed as the associate director of outreach with the Mayor’s Office for Ethnic & Community Media and previously served as deputy press secretary with NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).

SSB/DOB Urge Construction Workers Cheated by Valor Consulting to Sign Up for Free Safety Training
NYC Department of Small Businesses Services (SBS) is urging more than 17,000 active, construction workers to apply to SBS’s no-cost training program after their site safety training (SST) cards issued by Valor Consulting were deactivated following the revocation of the company’s status as a city-approved, safety training course provider. Those who apply will receive new replacement cards instead.
