  A Juneteenth celebration hosted by the social justice committee of Bronx Community Charter School in Norwood was held at the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood on Monday, June 19.   The school, located at 3170 Webster Avenue in Norwood, first launched what they intend to be an annual celebration last year, as reported. Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) hosted its 10th Annual Neighborhood Festival on Friday, June 16, celebrating both Pride and Juneteenth. The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating a 15-year-old girl reporting missing from Fordham Manor. Police said that Khaidley Rodriguez of 2687 Heath Avenue was last seen on June 17, at around 11 p.m., leaving her home. UPDATE University Heights: 12-Year-Old Boy Reported Missing Safely Located

The NYPD said a 12-year-old boy reported missing from University Heights has been safely located.   Prior to being located, police had said that Ruben Rodriguez, 12, had last been seen on Friday, June 23, at around 7 a.m., leaving his home. They said he was described as male, around 4 feet, 9 inches tall, weighed around 125 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. New Bronx Research Shows Poor Air Quality Leads to Longer Hospital Stays for Children with Asthma

  Children with asthma spend more time in the hospital when there is a greater amount of “particulate matter” (PM 2.5) i.e. tiny pieces of solids or liquids, and Ozone (O₃), a colorless gas, in the air, according to a new study by researchers at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) in Norwood.
