UPDATE Medical Incident Reported During Prayer Service of 17 Bronx Fire Victims

Norwood News has received eye witness reports that around 3 people required medical assistance, possibly due to frostbite or heat or stress-related illness, during the funeral and prayer service held on Sunday morning, Jan. 16, for the 17 victims, including 8 children, of last Sunday’s tragic fire in Fordham Heights, as reported.   Eye-witnesses told Norwood News during the service, which began at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, at the Islamic Cultural Center, located at 371 East 166th Street in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, that around 3 people attended to by EMTs and reportedly treated in an ambulance,

UPDATE Gas Odor Report at Morris Heights Business Yields No Fire

The FDNY confirmed no injuries were reported following a call received of a gas odor in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx.   An FDNY official said the department responded to a caller who reported a gas odor on Jan. 13, at 11.46 a.m. at 1800 Cedar Avenue, where they found no injuries. Morris Heights: FDNY Confirms No Injuries following Suspected Gas Leak

The FDNY confirmed there were no injuries arising from an incident reported on Jan. 13, at Omar Gourmet Deli Corp in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx, located at 1800 Cedar Avenue.   The alarm was raised at 11.46 a.m., following reports of a gas odor. Firefighters responded to the incident and requested a [gas] utility company response to the scene.   Norwood News has followed up with the gas company for more information and will update this story accordingly.    

Throggs Neck: One Hospitalized following Motor Vehicle Accident

The FDNY confirmed, on Thursday, a report of an overturned vehicle in the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx. They said they received a call regarding a motor vehicle accident at 13.39 p.m. on Jan. 13, at Harding Avenue and Revere Avenue in the Bronx.   Citizen’s App users had earlier posted that one person was seen trapped inside a vehicle. Hunts Point: A 20-Year-Old Man Has Died following a Motor Vehicle Collision

The NYPD has confirmed that a 56-year-old man has died following a car accident in Norwood.   On Sunday, Jan. 2, at approximately 1.22 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck by an FDNY ambulance at the intersection of Dekalb Avenue and E. Fordham Manor: FDNY Confirms No Injuries following Fire in Multiple Dwelling

The FDNY confirmed there were no injuries reported following a fire which broke out on Dec. 26, 2021, at 2720 Grand Concourse in The Bronx.
