Spuyten Duyvil: 59-Year-Old Woman Dies after Tree Falls into Swimming Pool

Morris Heights: Man Arrested for 1996 Murder of 36-Year-Old Jasmine Porter

The NYPD have made an arrest in a 26-year-old murder case that took place in Morris Heights.   An NYPD spokesperson said, “On Feb. 5, 1996, police responded to a call of an unconscious female inside of 1706 Davidson Avenue in the confines of the 46 Precinct. Upon arrival, police discovered an unconscious 36-year-old female with trauma to the neck. Claremont Village: One Firefighter Injured in 3-Alarm Fire

  A 3-alarm fire in Claremont Village on Aug. 4 resulted in injury to one firefighter according to FDNY officials.   An FDNY spokesperson said the fire was reported on Thursday morning, Aug. 4, at six minutes after midnight at 1325 Morris Avenue. According to the FDNY official, the fire was “on all floors of a 2-story dwelling.”   He added that around 33 units comprising 138 firefighters and EMS members responded to the scene. Fordham Manor: Firefighters Battle a Junkyard Fire from Land and Sea

  Firefighters battled 90 degree heat as well as a stubborn junkyard fire in Fordham Manor by land and sea on July 22, including employing an FDNY marine unit on the Harlem River to help extinguish the blaze.   Fire officials said the blaze broke out in a pile of trash inside a junkyard located at 2371 Exterior Street, just north of Fordham Road. Bedford Park Fire at 3010 Valentine Avenue Results in No Injuries

A fire which broke out in Bedford Park on July 27 resulted in no injuries, according to the FDNY.   FDNY officials said units responded to 3010 Valentine Avenue at 12:56 p.m. for reports of a fire on the 5th floor of a 6-story, multiple dwelling [Apt. 5G] on Wednesday, July 27.
