Bronxites across the borough marked the beginning of a third decade of remembrance of the human toll suffered during the September 11th attacks on America in 2001, earlier this month as the 144 Bronxites who died on the day the world changed forever were fondly recalled and honored. Police are looking for the driver of a stolen 2005 BMW which plowed into two parked cars on Jerome Avenue in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx. Witnesses told Norwood News the driver of the stolen car was observed exiting it and walking away from the vehicle, before later returning, calmly removing his belongings from its interior and from the trunk, and then disappearing once again before police arrived at the scene. A 59-year-old female pedestrian is in critical condition following a motor vehicle accident in the Little Yemen section of The Bronx. On Friday, Sept. 9, at around 6.31 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian who was struck at the intersection of Bronxdale Avenue and Cruger Avenue in the Little Yemen section of The Bronx, located south of Pelham Parkway, in the 49th Precinct. The Offices of the NYS Inspector General published its latest investigative report on Friday, Aug. 19, as well as 21 previously non-public letters arising from investigations undertaken by the office. A 59-year-old woman has died following a freak incident during which a tree apparently fell into an occupied swimming pool in Spuyten Duyvil.
