Olinville: 33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies following Road Accident

A 33-year-old man has died following a fatal road accident in the Olinville section of The Bronx, police said.   An NYPD spokesperson said that on Friday, June 16, at around 11.09 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision at East 217th Street and White Plains Road, within the confines of the 47th Precinct.   The spokesperson said that a preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was driving a 2017 Honda motorcycle traveling southbound on White Plains Road at East 217th Street when it collided with an elevated subway pillar and was ejected onto the roadway.

Williamsbridge: Four Injured, One Seriously, in 6-Story Residential Blaze

Four people were injured, one seriously, in a fire in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, according to the FDNY.   Fire department officials said they were alerted to reports of a fire/smoke at 3044 Wallace Avenue at 21.46 p.m. on Friday, June 16. An FDNY spokesperson said the fire broke out in the basement of the 6-story, occupied multiple dwelling and was brought under control at 10.26 p.m.  The spokesperson said one civilian is in serious condition, two civilians incurred minor injuries, and one firefighter also incurred minor injuries. UPDATE Soundview: 5-Alarm Fire in Residential High-rise Building Results in 7 Injuries

Firefighters battled a 5-alarm fire that broke out on Sunday evening in a multiple-unit, high-rise dwelling for eight hours, well into Monday morning, in the Soundview section of The Bronx, managing to contain the blaze to the original building.
