The Bronx Opera presents two performances of the beloved family opera “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck on Friday, Jan. 31, at 7.30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2.30 p.m. at Lehman College’s Lovinger Theater, located at 250 Bedford Park Blvd. West in The Bronx. The artistic director of the Bronx Opera is Ben Spierman and the conductor is Michael Spierman.

NY Lottery: Top Prize Winning Take-5 Ticket Sold in Kingsbridge Heights
It was an extra special Thanksgiving for one lucky Bronxite as The New York Lottery announced on Thursday, Nov. 28, that one top-prize winning ticket was sold for the Nov 27 Take 5 evening drawing in Kingsbridge Heights. Officials said the prize-winning ticket, worth $35,033, was sold at 1 Deli Bronx LLC, located at 2897 Sedgwick Avenue.
Bronx H.S. of Science Student Honored by Girl Scouts for Advocacy of Deaf & Hard of Hearing Community
Sarah Lin, a senior at Bedford Park’s Bronx High School of Science, has been chosen as Girl Scouts of Greater New York’s (GSGNY) 2024 Future Woman of Distinction, and was honored for her exemplary leadership and advocacy according to the organization. GSGNY presented Lin with the prestigious award at its 32nd Annual Women of Distinction breakfast on October 30.
