The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) published a second update on Monday, Dec. 4, on enforcement actions taken against unlicensed cannabis shops across the State.

Off-Duty DOC Employee Arrested & Charged with Assault in The Bronx

Police said an off-duty New York City employee was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 9, in the 43rd Precinct which encompasses some or all of the neighborhoods of Westchester Avenue, Castle Hill Avenue, White Plains Road, and Parkchester.   They said Richard Irving, 37, an employee with NYC Department of Corrections was charged with assault.   A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.    

Montefiore Einstein Awarded FDA Grant for Clinical Trial on Experimental Blood Cancer Treatment

Two related blood cancers that disproportionally target older adults called acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), are notoriously difficult to treat and are associated with high relapse rates, according to medical experts at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC). Although new therapies have improved survival rates, they say treatment options remain limited, and the prognosis for the 50% of people who have these cancers, remains poor.
