Norwood Pride Festival Makes its Debut in Williamsbridge Oval

The inaugural “Norwood Pride” festival took place on Sunday, June 23, in the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood. Its launch was rather ceremonious in that not only did local elected officials, State Sen. Gustavo Rivera (S.D. 33), and City Council Member Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11), show up to celebrate with the local community, but so too did Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.

Cure violence interrupters, Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence (B.R.A.G.), announced in late May that City & State publication recognized David Caba, senior vice president with Good Shepherd Services, the nonprofit which runs the B.R.A.G. program, on its Nonprofit Trailblazers list. “Thank you for all of your hard work!” B.R.A.G. members wrote in response to the news.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Council Finance Chair Justin Brannan, members of the City Council, and senior members of the Adams administration announced an agreement on Friday, June 28, for an on-time, balanced, and fiscally-responsible $112.4 billion adopted budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025.
