Norwood: DOT, MTA Officials Mark Launch of Gun Hill Road Bus Redesign

Officials from NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony along East Gun Hill Road in Norwood on Tuesday, Oct. 31, marking the completion of the ‘Bus Priority and Safety Project.’ The project consisted of a dedicated bus lane and two bus boarding islands along a section of the roadway which transport officials say create a safer and faster bus service for the 40,000 riders traveling along the route everyday.

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Re-Registration Period Extended in Some Cases

The Office of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) who represents parts of The Bronx and Queens is reminding Bronxites that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced recently that it is extending the re-registration periods for the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations of several countries, including Nepal, Nicaragua and Honduras.

Clark, together with the Office of Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and the New York Yankees hosted the 6th Annual Run/Walk/Roll to End Domestic Violence on Saturday, Oct. 7. Queens Man Charged for Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend & 9-Year-Old Daughter & Assaulting Teen Daughter

  Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Friday, July 14, that a Queens man has been charged with attempted murder and other charges for stabbing his ex-girlfriend and their 9-year-old daughter, as well as assaulting their 14-year-old daughter when the girls came to their mother’s aid, after a graduation celebration. The woman’s 6-year-old son watched as the defendant knifed his mother in the head.   In the context of the announcement, Clark said, “The defendant allegedly went to the Bronx home of his ex-girlfriend, with whom he shares three daughters, and allegedly stabbed her.
