UPDATE Three Men Murdered in 4 Days of Each Other a Few Blocks Apart

Two murder investigations are underway after a 35-year-old man was shot dead in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx and within 7 hours, a 32-year-old man was also shot dead in Fordham Heights. One of the fatal victims is from University Heights, the other from Morris Heights. 

DOT Launches New “Daylighting” Pedestrian Safety Program at 33 Bronx Locations

New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced on Sept. 3, that the NYC Department of Transportation has improved pedestrian visibility at 33 locations in The Bronx, using a technique called “daylighting” which removes obstructions, like parked cars, from intersections in an effort to enhance safety.

Boar’s Head Recalls Certain Meat Products following Listeria Outbreak

Meat supplier, Boar’s Head announced a product recall of certain packaged meat products on Friday, July 25, in light of an ongoing investigation by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) into a Listeria outbreak across the country, impacting several states on the east side and amid the death of two people.
