Fordham Heights: Police Launch Murder Inquiry after Man, 28, is Fatally Shot

A 28-year-old man has died after being fatally shot in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx, police said.   On Tuesday, Dec. 13, at around 00.28 a.m., police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation [technology that monitors the sound of gunshots] in the vicinity of 2171 Grand Concourse, located within the 46th Precinct.   A police spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the head in front of 2155 Grand Concourse.”   The spokesperson added, “EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital,

UPDATE GoFundMe Page Set Up for Morris Heights Fire Victims as FDNY Shares Fire Safety Tips

Following an early morning, Nov. 24th, residential fire in which two people died at 1730 Harrison Avenue in Morris Heights, the FDNY is encouraging the public to check out their fire safety tips, while a GoFundMe page has been set-up to support the victims of the tragedy.   The FDNY reported on social media that the department called on all hands to respond to a multiple dwelling at 1730 Harrison Avenue at around 5.33 a.m. on Nov. 24. After Bronx Medical History is Made, HIV-Positive Heart Transplant Recipient Meets Donor Family

It was an extra special Thanksgiving this year for one mother and her family. Seven months after history was made in The Bronx, an emotional meeting took place on Tuesday, Nov. 22, between the world’s first HIV-positive to HIV-positive heart transplant recipient and her donor’s family. Pelham Parkway: Medical Examiner Rules August Death of Two People a Murder-Suicide

The City’s medical examiner has ruled the death of two people on Aug. 6 in the Pelham Parkway section of The Bronx as a murder-suicide.   On Saturday, Aug. 6, at around 9.10 a.m., police from the 49th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an aided individual in front of 720 Pelham Parkway South.   “Upon arrival, officers discovered two aided, unconscious individuals at the rear of 2199 Cruger Avenue,” a police spokesperson said. “Officers observed a 35-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive with injuries indicative of a fall from an elevated position,” the spokesperson added.

UPDATE Kingsbridge Heights: Arrest Made following Fatal Shooting & Car Pile-Up

The NYPD have arrested a man in connection to the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old male driver, shot on the Major Deegan Expressway on Monday evening, Nov. 21.
