Alexandria Arriaga, daughter of the 49th Precinct Clergy Council chaplain and Democratic State Committee woman and district leader, Sandra Pabon, announced the death of her mother in a social media post on Friday, June 2, writing, “This is Alex. Norwood News was informed late on May 31 that Nora Feury, a lifelong Bronx resident who previously served as chair of Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7), and more recently served as CB7 secretary, has died at age 78. A now annual COVID memorial ceremony was once again held by local northwest Bronx residents, including Friends of Jerome Park, at Fort Washington Walk at the corner of Reservoir Avenue and University Avenue in Jerome Park on Saturday, May 13, to commemorate those lost to COVID-19 over the course of the recent pandemic. Police said that a 9-year-old boy died on Sunday in the Mt. Hope section of the Bronx. They said he appears to have fallen out of a window, though the investigation is ongoing. The NYPD launched a murder investigation after a 69-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive on the street in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, and died one week later. Police said that on Tuesday, April 25, at approximately 4.47 a.m., EMS responded to a report of an aided, unconscious man in front of 3212 Cruger Avenue in Williamsbridge.
