The above video was created by Project Bronx. Project Bronx is the brainchild of Adam Levine-Peres, “a community inspired initiative” that’s focused around a Youtube channel dedicated to discussing issues important to the Bronx community. Project Bronx seeks to give a voice to the Bronx with its videos consisting of interviews with Bronx people on many topics from race relations to whether or not the Bronx is better than Brooklyn. Its Twitter feed gives updates on the many things going on in the Bronx.

Bronx Notes: Public Hearing on Federal Poverty Funding

Musical Slideshow: Making Music NY-Style in Oval Park

On the first day of summer, Make Music NY organized more than 1,000 concerts in the five boroughs, including a show at Williamsbride Oval Park, featuring local band Forty Indy and singer/guitarist THEO. Photographer Adi Talwar put together this slideshow. The accompanying music was performed by Fort Indy.

Video: A Soundtrack for Ibrahim Gonzalez’s Exit

Chills ran up my spine while I was taking this video at the end of Ibrahim’s funeral service at the Woodlawn chapel on Friday, June 7. With the music building inside and the rain coming down outside, everyone in attendance was transfixed or dancing to the rhythms.
