UPDATE Norwood Mourns Beloved Resident & Community Activist Lyn Pyle
The local community is mourning the recent death of Norwood resident and community activist Lyn Pyle who died last month at the age of 83. Pyle was a Norwood resident and “Knox Place Legend” according to a flier posted ahead of a memorial service held in her honor on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the COVE, located 3418 Gates Place.

The Bronx entry finished in fourth place.

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts presents an ABBA Tribute Show “Arrival from Sweden” on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. According to the Center’s representatives, “Arrival from Sweden” is one of the world’s most popular and best selling ABBA tribute bands. “Hailed as the closest you will ever get to ABBA, the show masters the Nordic band’s spirit with sensational vocals, breathtaking arrangements, and incredible costumes,” they said.

Bronx Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-2024 50th Season Opens Oct. 22 at Lehman College
The Orchestra of the Bronx, founded and conducted by Michael Spierman, returns on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. for a free concert at Lehman College’s Lovinger Theatre, performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (the Eroica). Spierman leads a 40-member orchestra of musicians drawn from other major orchestras and Broadway shows.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced on Friday, Oct. 20, “Halloween at Gracie Mansion 2023,” a two-day celebration that organizers say will transform the outdoor grounds of the mayor’s historic residence into a “haunted” Halloween-themed experience for a group of young New Yorkers. Bronx families are giving the mayor a run for his money however, as evidenced by some of these photos taken in the lead-up to the year’s scariest night…
