NYCHA Will Begin Accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Applications for 1st Time in 15 Years
New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced on Monday, May 20, that after being closed for nearly 15 years, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) will begin accepting applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, reopening a wait list that has been closed to general applications for nearly 15 years.
UPDATE University Heights: Owner of Pitbull Which Savagely Attacked Cat Arrested on Animal Cruelty & Other Charges
The NYPD said cops have arrested a 29-year-old man from University Heights on animal cruelty charges relating to an attack on a cat by a pitbull. A now widely circulated video obtained by cat rescue group, Little Wanderers NYC, recently reported by Norwood News, showed a pitbull attacking a cat though the incident location was not confirmed.

Jerome Avenue Post Office Finally Reopens
The post office branch located at 3464 Jerome Avenue in Norwood reopened on May 2, after being closed for around one year. Google also lists the post office as reopened. As reported, a mobile unit parked outside the post office had been serving customers following confirmation from USPS last year that there was a raccoon infestation in the building.
