Amid criticism from some that his meeting with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, held Friday, Jan. 17, was used to discuss his federal legal case of alleged bribery around election campaign financing to which he has pleaded not guilty, New York City Mayor Eric Adams refuted suggestions the meeting was used for this purpose and said the discussion, among other topics, focused on bringing manufacturing jobs to New York City, particularly in The Bronx.

There were no injuries reported after a BxM1 bus crashed into a high wall by 2601 Henry Hudson Parkway and Kappock Street / Independence Avenue in the Spuyten Duyvll section of The Bronx on Friday morning, Jan. 17, according to City officials. The FDNY said they received a call at 8.40 a.m. for a report of a bus hanging from an overpass. They said there were no reported injuries but emergency units are continuing to operate at the scene. UPDATE Kingsbridge: Four-Alarm Fire at 3030 Heath Avenue Injures Two FFs and Displaces 45 Residents
Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries after a four-alarm, residential fire broke out in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Wednesday night, displacing dozens of residents. According to the FDNY, the department received a call at 5.56 p.m. on Jan. 15 for reports of a fire on the fourth floor of a 4-story building at 3030 Heath Avnue between Albany Crescent and Summit Place.
