Montefiore Holds Series of Bronx Events in Recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month
No longer a “silent struggle,” hundreds of Bronx residents and families impacted by a wide range of conditions that affect, mood, thinking and behaviors participated in a range of events hosted by Montefiore Health System throughout the last two months in recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month. Topics relevant to mental health and discussed at the various events were requested by community members and the various discussions were led by Montefiore’s department of Psychiatry and its Office of Community & Population Health (OCPH).
Sanchez Introduces Bill Inspired by Billingsley Terrace Partial Building Collapse in Morris Heights
City Councilmember (C.D.14) Pierina Sanchez joined the The Legal Aid Society, and tenants gathered outside City Hall on April 25 to announce new legislation in response to the partial building collapse that occurred at 1915 Billingsley Terrace in Morris Heights on Dec. 11, 2023, forcing over 150 tenants to lose their homes, as reported.
