Bronx Nursing Assistant Gets 5 Years Probation for Stealing Paraplegic Veteran’s Credit Card & Buying Personal Items
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Wednesday, Oct. 9, that a former nursing assistant at the James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fordham Manor has been sentenced to five years probation after pleading guilty to stealing a patient’s credit card and purchasing food deliveries, shoes and other items.

Update Olinville: NYPD Removes Snake found in Shopping Bag
There were no injuries reported on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 28, after police removed a snake from a shopping bag in the Olinville section of The Bronx. An NYPD spokesperson said that police received a call on Saturday at around 2.09 p.m. for a report of a Honduran milk snake in the vicinity of 212th Street and White Plains Road. Abandoned Pitbull Rescued by Allerton Residents & Placed for Adoption Later Euthanized by ACC
After an “extremely hungry” and “dehydrated” pitbull was found abandoned in the Allerton section of The Bronx on Saturday, May 4, and was later placed in the care of Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), the pitbull in question was later euthanized by the center, much to the devastation of the local residents who helped rescue him.

NYC Emergency Management and the NYC health department are reminding New Yorkers to take precautions to beat the heat as the current heatwave continues into the weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) has advised that a heat advisory is in effect until Sunday, June 23, at 8 p.m. Hot and humid conditions are in the forecast throughout the weekend, with heat index values in the upper 90s to 100 across the city.
UPDATE University Heights: Owner of Pitbull Which Savagely Attacked Cat Arrested on Animal Cruelty & Other Charges
The NYPD said cops have arrested a 29-year-old man from University Heights on animal cruelty charges relating to an attack on a cat by a pitbull. A now widely circulated video obtained by cat rescue group, Little Wanderers NYC, recently reported by Norwood News, showed a pitbull attacking a cat though the incident location was not confirmed.

Around two and half weeks after cat rescue group Little Wanderers NYC shared allegations of organized pitbull fighting taking place at certain locations around The Bronx, which the Bronx District Attorney has confirmed are under investigation by her office, an “extremely hungry” and “dehydrated” pitbull was found abandoned on Saturday, May 4, in the Allerton section of the borough.
