As a capital one bank account holder im a little pissed. Called customer service asked what the problem was. Why all other banks are receiving deposits. Of course no answer was given. Every other bank seems to be getting there direct deposit for the stimulus money. But what’s the deal with capital one? My sister and mom have chase. They got there’s early. As of yesterday jan 4th my dad got his. He as well has a different bank. Most people i work with have had there’s on or before jan 4th.

Update: My transcript says refunded on Jan 4th. Capital One customer service has no answers. Agent told me they do not see any pending deposits. Talked to another who went back door. Whatever that means. Also couldn’t see any pending deposits. Advise agent website states ssi, government, and payroll are deposited same day. And that this is a government deposit. So why the hold up? Agent agreed with me. But could not answer. Told agent will call the irs. To investigate more.

My funds are in my account and they will not release my funds or allow me to access my account to get my funds

Cap One closed my account December 24th for no reason. They sent me the remaining balance of my account and wrote in a letter addressed to me “As of December 24th, your account is closed” It was post marked December 26th and I received it on 1/6/2021. This 360 checking account was our “rainy day fund” we kept a small balance in there, but its where we stashed our vacation funds. If I was given proper notice I would have changed my account number. Now the IRS is telling me that I am not able to receive a refund and have to file a special form when I do my taxes in order to get the stimulus. We have 6 people in our family, my husband is down one job, $3600 would have been so helpful. Yet the IRS and Cap One, just say, oh well…..
Cap one told me that the IRS will issue me a a check, the IRS said they wont. And my 3600 is just floating around someplace. I still have no clear answer as to why they closed my account. And they dont have an answer either.

Capital changed our account to 360 with a new routing number fall of 2020. Now it seems we will not be receiving our check. They lied the first time called about this and the second time put us on hold for over 20 minutes when we called them.

I was overdrawn but was making small deposits each week to show that I was trying to make it right Knowing that I was getting a stimulus check since I had mine deposited in this account the first round they went ahead and closed my account turned back my stimulus the very next day but were more Than happy to recoup the over draft amount when they accepted my direct deposit. When I finally went to check why my recurring payments were not being paid is when I found out that my account was permanently restricted. The unhelpful customer service promised to expedite my close out check. Fast forward ten business days later I go online and see that they accepted two more weeks of direct deposit from my former employer. And they had not closed my account or taken money out of the account. I called them and all they had to say was oops. You’ll have to wait another ten business days. ??? I don’t think so. I think it’s also real funny that they denied my scheduled payment of my capital one credit card while I had over ten grand in the restricted account
