Bronx Weekend Bridge and Street Closures: November 27-29

The following street and bridge closures will be in effect over the weekend from Nov. 27-29 in the Bronx.

East 178 Street between Anthony Avenue and Grand Concourse: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 9am to 6pm through 12/30/20 to facilitate crane operation.

Bergen Avenue between East 152 Street and Westchester Avenue: This street will be closed Friday from 9am to 7pm through 12/25/20 to facilitate crane operation.

Fox Street between Westchester Avenue and East 163rd Street: This street will be closed from 8am to 6pm Saturday through 12/30/20 to facilitate crane operation.

Mount Hope Place between Jerome Avenue and Walton Avenue: This street will be closed Friday from 9am to 2pm through 12/25/20 to facilitate concrete pouring operation.

Sedgwick Avenue between University Avenue and West 167 Street: This street will be closed Friday from 9am to 4pm through 12/20/20 to facilitate watermain operation.

Washington Avenue between Weiher Court and East 165 Street: This street will be closed Friday from 9am to 6pm, Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 9am to 6pm through 12/7/20 to facilitate crane operation.

Weiher Court between Washington Avenue and Third Avenue: This street will be closed Friday from 9am to 6pm, Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 9am to 6pm through 12/7/20 to facilitate crane operation.

West Clarke Place between Jerome Avenue and Inwood Avenue: This street will be closed Friday from 7am to 6pm through 12/22/20 to facilitate crane operation.

Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
