BronxArtSpace, a gallery managed by artists Linda Cunningham and Mitsu Hadeishi, will host the opening of its two-week-long art sale and silent auction this evening from 5 to 9 p.m. Work by Bedford Park-based artist Barbara Korman, who has exhibited at the gallery in the past, will be available for purchase.
Korman, a former public school arts teacher, program director of the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association, and Bronx native, has shown her work in over 100 exhibits and museum galleries, including the Neuberger Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Grounds for Sculpture, and the Samuel Dorsky Museum of art amongst others. Her work was featured in Tiffany’s storefront windows in 1991.
BronxArtsSpace, home to visual art exhibitions, film screenings, dance, music, and theater performances, is located at 305 East 140th St., in Suite 1B. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Friday, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday noon to 5p.m. from Sunday, July 21 to Sunday, August 4.
