Bronx News Roundup: Suspect of Murder Commits Suicide

Sorry for the lack of news roundups this week, here’s todays roundup:

– Yet another teacher has been arrested for having sex with a minor on Wednesday in the Bronx, the Daily News reports. High school music teacher Brian Kearins has been accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl after the victim’s sister found a string of emails and text messages between the pair that described their sexual relationship.

– A man suspected of killing his mother in her Perry Avenue apartment was found dead on Wednesday in an apparent suicide, the Daily News reports. John Rodriguez, was found with slashes on his wrist on E. Gunhill Road.

According to a Bronx Times article, twelve Bronx schools will be eligible for the city’s first ever speed cameras that will monitor the speed of cars driving through the school zones. If a motorist is driving above the posted speed limit, the camera will take a picture of the license plate number and mail the driver a hefty fine.

According to Eyewitness News, a man was found fatally stabbed earlier this evening in Van Cortlandt Park. No suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
