Bronx News Roundup: Bronx Man Thrown out of Apartment Window During Home Invasion

– According to ABC Eyewitness News, a Bronx man was thrown out of a third story apartment window during a home invasion on Monday night. He is in stable condition and is currently recovering in the hospital. The man told authorities that he did not recognize any of the assailants and that the apartment wasn’t even his, saying that he was watching it for a friend.

According to another ABC Eyewitness News report, 40 year old teacher Anthony Criscuolo has been arrested and charged with raping a 10 year old girl in the Bronx.

– New York City investigators are probing the principal of Intermediate School 232 after he allegedly made a threat to don “a vest like the terrorists”  and blow up the school’s faculty, the Daily News reports. The incident happened during a Post-Hurricane Sandy meeting back in November.

– After months of picketing and negotiating, the workers at Sunny Day Car Wash not only got the back pay that was owed to them but also worked out a labor contract, the Mott Haven Herald reports. The workers had been protesting since November when the company owner, Frank Roman, fired several of their colleagues who complained that they had not been paid for weeks.

According to a Daily News article, the organizers of the new Bronx LGBTQ Community Services Center are determined to hold a pride event, however they have less than three weeks to raise the $2,500 required to pay for the permit for such an event. They are currently looking for other participants and organizations involved with the event to chip in for the event.
