A successful Bronx job training non-profit, Per Scholas, is now expanding to Ohio, according to The Huffington Post. The CEO of Per Scholas, Plinio Ayala, has this to say: “I am a Bronx boy and I’ve lived through some of the very bad times of this borough and recognize in many ways a good-paying job mitigates many of the issues that exist in these communities. And you can only get a good-paying job if you have the skills they require.”

Saturday’s annual Feria de Salud Festival, held at St. Mary’s Park, will offer free health screenings and prescription discount cards. According to the Daily News, volunteers will also be educating South Bronx residents about diabetes; Mott Haven and Hunts Point have the highest diabetes rates in the city.

Phony real estate broker Cecilia Casabuena is set to be sentenced today at the Bronx Supreme Court after pleading guilty to grand larceny and petit larceny after scamming over 50 Bronx apartment seekers. [Daily News]

Tenants at the Claremont Houses in the Bronx are suing the New York City Housing Authority over a months-long rat infestation.[Daily News]

The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention released data revealing a small decline in oral sex among adolescents between 2002 and 2010. That can mean good news for the Bronx, an area with high rates of sexually transmitted diseases, many of which can be spread through oral sex. [ABC]

Australian artist Rebecca McIntosh will be channeling the Greek goddess Aphrodite in her mobile art installation “Love TV” on the corner of Fordham Rd. and Webster Ave. on Thursday and Friday between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m..
