Belmont: One Minor Injury Reported after Apartment Fire Breaks out at 416 East 187th Street

One minor injury was reported by the FDNY after an apartment fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Belmont.

 

Fire department officials said they received a call at 1.07 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, for a reported fire n the fourth floor of a 4-story multiple dwelling (30 x 80) located at 416 East 187th Street, by Webster Avenue and Park Avenue West.

 

FDNY officials said the fire was indeed on the fourth floor of the building and that 12 units, comprising 60 fire and EMS personnel responded to the incident. They said there was one minor injury to a firefighter, the fire was brought under control at 1.36 p.m., and fire marshals are investigating the cause.

 

As reported, a 15-year-old girl was shot in Belmont on Monday evening at East 183rd Street and Crotona Avenue.
