Belmont: Man Sought in Nonfatal Shooting of Female Bystander

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who they say is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred in Belmont.

 

Police said that on Sunday, Nov. 12, at around 10 p.m., the victim, a 41-year-old woman, was standing in the vicinity of 504 East 180th Street, when two males were observed disputing in front of the location. “One of the males displayed a firearm and shot towards the other male, accidentally striking the female victim in the torso,” a police spokesperson said.

 

“The unidentified male fled the location in a red colored four door sedan, traveling eastbound on East Tremont Avenue to parts unknown,” the spokesperson continued. “The victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.”

Police said the gunman was described as male, has a dark complexion and was last seen wearing a camouflage baseball hat, a heavy fur-lined winter coat, a camouflage shirt, camouflage pants, and tan boots.
